2020 WA International School Student of the Year

Carlo is a teacher from the Philippines who is currently studying for the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care at North Metropolitan TAFE in Leederville. He is held in high regard by his lecturers at TAFE and also by staff at the child care centre where he has undertaken work placement.

This year Carlo was selected as a study Perth ambassador and in that role has provided support to other students.

In addition, he has created and manages a Facebook group for Filipino international students, continuously assisting them with information regarding jobs, rentals, life in Perth and events that would benefit them as international students. As a proficient English speaker he makes a point of supporting other students with their English. During the peak of the pandemic he organised support from different groups in the community for international students.
